Security Policies of Utomi GmbH

At Utomi, we believe it is essential to respect the privacy and data security of our customers.

Utomi GmbH will neither sell nor rent your personal data. In addition, we protect all of our customers' personal information against any unauthorized use or data manipulation. We also give you full access to all of your stored personal information, as well as the flexibility to change or delete this information at any time.

When using our online services, we will provide you – to the fullest extent – with all of the necessary protection to ensure a trustworthy relationship.

Collection and Use of Information

During the registration and login processes, personal information is generated and stored. In addition, we automatically receive data generated by your browser that will be stored in a log file on our server. This data is needed to customize the information displayed in your browser, to fulfill your requests regarding specific services and products, and also for statistical purposes. For example, the total time for online meetings is stored for billing purposes.

Under no circumstances will Utomi GmbH or its subsidiaries sell or exchange your personal data for profit to third parties.

Information may be forwarded under the following circumstances:

  • You have agreed to forward your data.
  • We need to forward data to enable products and services that you requested.
  • We need to forward data to companies that are contracted by Utomi GmbH or its subsidiaries to provide some or part of the services on your behalf.
  • We have to react to a court order or other legally-binding directives within the applicable jurisdiction.
  • We become aware that your actions or use of our services are in violation of the terms stated in our user agreement.

Secure online meetings take place in an environment of mediated data exchange. Only upon customer request will these meetings be recorded and stored on our servers for future use by the customer. This data is protected from unauthorized use.

Your account information is password-protected for privacy and security reasons.

Data transmission can be protected using SSL-Encryption.

IP Information

An IP address is a number that is automatically assigned to your computer each time you access the internet. This number is used by the web server (the central computer that processes components of web pages) to automatically identify your computer. Utomi GmbH collects IP addresses for system administration purposes, in order to create reports and to analyze the use of our web site. Whenever a customer requests a specific page of or service, our server recognizes the IP address of the requesting computer. The IP address is not tied to the customer's personal information, however. This guarantees anonymity and respects the customers privacy. The IP address is typically used to determine the number of visitors to our web pages.

Cookies

A cookie is a packet of information sent by a server to a World Wide Web browser and then sent back by the browser each time it accesses that server. Cookies are stored locally on your computer's hard drive. Individual preferences regarding a specific web site can be stored in cookies and therefore make it easier to surf the web. Utomi will never store passwords or similarly sensitive data in cookies.

The use of cookies is common and usually beneficial. You will find them on most larger web sites because they help companies improve their web sites and the overall user experience. For example, because cookies indicate the frequency of visits to a particular web page, companies are able to recognize which information and functions are popular and which not. Many improvements and updates are based on information provided by cookies. Cookies also help us to customize web pages according to the needs and wishes of a specific customer.

We do not use cookies to identify individuals. Our web site will never fetch any personal, identifiable information from your computer that was not sent directly by the server itself as a cookie.

You will always have the opportunity to deactivate cookies in your browser's Preferences folder. The default setting of most browsers is automatically set to accept cookies; however, you can customize the settings to deny cookies or ask for permission before accepting.

With Microsoft Internet Explorer, you can change the settings by selecting the following:

Tools > Internet Options > Privacy

It is possible that some parts of the web site may not function properly if cookies are disabled.
