Technical Support: net-conference

General information regarding required hardware

To take advantage of audio and video transmission (voice/video over IP), all participants must have a Webcam (or at least a microphone and loudspeakers) installed on their computer. For optimum audio quality we recommend the use of headphones.

It is also possible to use net-conference without the recommended hardware – in this case, the integrated Chat function can be used for communication.

For online presentations or training courses, participants need not install audio or video equipment.

General information regarding required software

net-conference requires Internet Explorer (Version 5 or higher) and the Windows operating system (Version 98 or higher).

Using net-conference for online meetings

Every net-conference user can easily initiate an online meeting and invite participants.

1. Install net-conference / Log in to net-conference

2. Set up an online meeting and invite participants

After logging in, the main net-conference window will open. In the menu bar on the top right of the window, create a new session by selecting "Session" and then clicking on "New Session."

In the following dialog window, you can select a name for the meeting, determine the start and end times, and invite participants. In the left-hand window, select desired participants. By clicking the "Add" button, those selected names will be added to the participant list on the right.



When finished, click "OK" and the selected participants will receive an invitation via net-conference (at this point the participants should already be logged into net-conference), and they will now be able to participate in the meeting.

3. Starting the Meeting

Now you are ready to begin your online meeting. Depending on individual hardware capabilities (see "General information regarding required hardware equipment", above), each participant can activate the Audio- and Video-transmission by simply clicking on the "Video" and "Audio" buttons.

You can invite additional participants at any time, even during the meeting. Simply click on "Session Users," "Online Users" or "Friends," and then right-click on the corresponding name of the participant. Select "Invite to Current Session" in the corresponding context menu.
